Customer leaves huge tip at restaurant in Michigan, and there’s a heartbreaking reason why…

Staff at Mason Jar Cafe in Benton Harbor experienced shock when a diner added a $10,000 tip to his bill earlier this month. Tim Sweeney, the manager, mentioned that while staff typically receive tips, they rarely exceed $100, and the man, known as Mark, left an astonishing 30,835 percent tip on his bill.

Although the food and drink totaled just over $30, Mark ended up paying a total of $10,032.43. Tim, utterly surprised by the generosity, approached Mark to confirm the donation’s accuracy. After a discussion, Mark expressed his desire to proceed.

It was later revealed that the substantial tip was left in memory of a recently deceased friend, as Mark was in town for the funeral. Waitress Paige Mulick shared the touching reason behind the gesture, stating that it was “an act of kindness that impacted so many people.”

The restaurant divided the tip among the staff working that day, with each person receiving around $1,100. Paige mentioned that she would use her share to contribute towards her student loans, emphasizing the importance of every dollar in a job like hers.

Describing the hardworking staff, Paige expressed that many deserving individuals, including mothers, were present that day. Tim emphasized the significance of making a positive impact, stating, “Any time you can lend a hand and change somebody’s life – whether it’s a small act or a large act – it’s very important to just keep that in the forefront, keep that top of mind. A little bit goes a long way. In this situation, a lot goes a long way.” The extraordinary gesture left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
