Dakota Johnson caused one of the most uncomfortable moments in Ellen Show history when she publicly confronted Ellen on live television

Dakota Johnson is evidently not one to tolerate false accusations.

The actress has appeared in numerous Hollywood films throughout her career, including the 2019 release of her film “The Peanut Butter Falcon” with Shia LeBeouf.

Before its release, Johnson appeared on The Ellen Show, where things took a slightly awkward turn between the two.

While discussing the film, the veteran host mentioned that Johnson had recently turned 30, prompting DeGeneres to claim she was never invited to her birthday party.

Johnson, however, disagreed with the statement, swiftly responding: “Actually, no, that’s not the truth, Ellen, you were invited.”

She continued, “Last time I was on the show, last year, you gave me a bunch of s**t about not inviting you, but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited.”

“Well, who wouldn’t want to be invited to a party?” DeGeneres quickly retorted.

“But I didn’t even know you liked me,” Johnson insisted.

This led to a comeback from DeGeneres, who insisted she has always liked the actor and wouldn’t have invited her on the show so often if she wasn’t a fan.

“But I did invite you, and you didn’t come,” Johnson insisted.

Feeling embarrassed, it was confirmed that DeGeneres was indeed invited but was unable to attend because she had been out of town.

On the fourth anniversary of the exchange, people reminisced about it on social media.

“Four years ago today Dakota Johnson ended Ellen’s whole career with ‘actually that’s not the truth Ellen’,” one person wrote.

“Dakota really clowned Ellen at her own show,” another added.

While a third remarked: “4 years ago, Dakota Johnson called out Ellen DeGeneres for lying about not being invited to her birthday party.”

Johnson wasn’t the only celebrity to confront DeGeneres on the show during its 19 season-long run.

Zac Efron appeared on the show alongside Taylor Swift back in 2012, where they revealed that Swift had taught Efron how to play the guitar.

Swift taught Efron to play ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ by Foster the People, which he proceeded to play for DeGeneres – but with his own lyrics.

Noting that the host had previously claimed that Efron and Swift were romantically involved, some of the High School Musical star’s lyrics went: “Ellen works a long day. Giving weird interviews in a slick, cool sweater. And it gets kind of weird, yeah, callin’ us out, like we’re boyfriend and girlfriend.

“But it’s not just ’cause we’re just sitting here and we got cat videos and dance on Betty White and stuff. And it’s always gonna be weird – ‘Cause this song is all about Ellen and Swift, yeah.”
