As predicted, many unusual and stunning clothes were on display at yesterday’s 2024 Met Gala, but actress Demi Moore may have worn the most eye-catching.
The 61-year-old made her first Met Gala appearance in five years, wearing a gown reportedly made of wallpaper!
Moore’s gown featured heart-shaped wings extending from her sides and a pink-and-white floral pattern, which she paired with Cartier diamond jewelry.
After capturing the attention of photographers and fans worldwide who followed the event, Moore claimed that the dress was “not heavy at all” and made her “want to rumba.”
As previously said, Harris Reed created the exquisite gown out of wallpaper, saying that the endeavor required an amazing 11,000 hours of silk stitching.
“It all started with this incredible Cartier necklace that Demi is wearing,” the designer explained during the occasion.
The flowery vibe inspired me. We built the entire sculpture from ancient archival wallpaper. We reused it. We recycled 11,000 hours of silk stitching to create this image of her flowering on the carpet. “I wished I could be the vines to her thorns.”
Moore last attended the Met Gala in 2019, before the COVID-19 epidemic. On that occasion, she chose Saint Laurent’s all-black gown with a plunging neckline.
Last month, the Indecent Proposal star drew attention when she attended Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary celebration. For the event, the 61-year-old actress donned a see-through black dress, plain black undergarments, and simple black shoes.
Moore kept her makeup simple, opting for soft pink lipstick and strong mascara to let her outfit stand out. She wore no jewelry for the occasion, and her long black hair fell to her waist.
