This well-known girl grew up during the war. However, she was still too young to recall the majority of the events that led to the war. Despite the impact on her education, she went on to become one of the most recognizable celebrities.

This well-known person was born on May 23, 1933, in London, England. She is the oldest child of Joseph, a talent agent, and Elsa, a former nightclub hostess.

The British-born Elsa and her South African husband, Joseph, had two additional children together: Bill in 1946 and Jackie in 1937. The family lived through the Second World War.

They sought shelter in Tube stations with other Londoners to evade the German bombs strewn throughout the city. In May 2020, this girl remembered those days.

She revealed that her father, who was quite young at the time, had to stay in London to entertain those who remained after the war started. She also said:

“But we were everywhere… I was evacuated all the time.”

Her family’s inability to remain in one location had affected her education. This celebrity acknowledged that it was a difficult time for her. However, it was made easier for her and her sister because they were fortunate to have their mother by their side.

She recalled that she and her loved ones slept in the subterranean. It was highly social; people would sing and play accordions.

The girl who was evacuated is English actress Joan Collins, who gained widespread fame after costarring with Linda Evans in the 1981 drama series “Dynasty.”

Collins stated in an interview from October 2013 that her grandma inspired her to pursue acting by teaching her how to sing, tap dance, and do splits. Her father, however, dissuaded her from pursuing a career in acting, stating that she would be irrelevant to the business by the time she was 23. She clearly exceeded everyone’s expectations.

While Collins’ profession has flourished over the years, her romantic life has not. Previously engaged to Warren Beatty, who was 23 at the time, the actress became pregnant with his child at age 26.

However, he advised her to end the pregnancy because he believed it would damage their jobs. Years later, the now mother of three confirmed that he was correct, despite his initial reluctance.

Collins had four marriages, but she never married Beatty. Actor Percy Gibson has been her sixth spouse since February 2002.

A month after the couple exchanged vows, Collins said, “Percy is the most honorable man I’ve ever met.” Though she didn’t want to, he persuaded her to marry again.

He was a producer, and she was in a play when they first met in New York City in 2000. When she was in her 60s and he was in his 30s, they started a passionate relationship. The age gap never troubled the pair.

Collins is 90 years old today, and Gibson, her longtime spouse, is 58. His wife, who won a Golden Globe, is 32 years older than the Peruvian.
