Despite his health issues, Alan Jackson has exciting news for his fans

Alan Jackson isn’t allowing his deteriorating health to prevent him from doing what he loves: creating new songs. He still has a passion for it and enjoys the creative process that comes with composing music at the age of 64. In fact, he claims to be constantly thinking of fresh ideas and brainstorming songs.

Jackson pledged to keep producing music when speaking with his daughter, Mattie Jackson, on her In Joy Life podcast on February 21. “I’m always sketching ideas and thinking about tunes… Yes, I believe there will be more music in the future,” the 64-year-old father stated.

The interview came less than two years after he announced his diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) illness, a genetic neurological disorder affecting the hands, feet, legs, and arms. While he was first diagnosed with CMT in 2011, his symptoms have worsened in subsequent years.

According to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), CMT illness “causes degeneration of the peripheral nerves, resulting in muscle weakness in the body’s extremities.” Jean-Martin Charcot, Pierre Marie, and Howard Henry Tooth were the three physicians who discovered it in 1886.

Charcot-Marie- Tooth disease affects around 126,000 people in the United States and more than 2.5 million people globally; virtually all CMT illness cases are hereditary. Comedian Anthony Ramos, actress Julie Newmar, and Paralympian Anthony Zahn are among the other celebrities who have the condition.

Alan Jackson was asked if fans could expect a new album in the near future during an interview with his daughter. To the joy of his adoring fans, Alan said, “Yes, I would hope so,” adding that, while he hasn’t traveled much in recent years, the “creative part” still “jumps out every now and then.”

Alan Jackson hasn’t published an album since his comeback in 2021, when he released Where Have You Gone after a six-year absence. Jackson was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2017, and the CMA has announced that he will receive the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.

Alan Jackson was asked what he likes most about his profession when conversing with his daughter in February, and the response was simple: composing music. He described it as “more rewarding than anything’ and stated how it provides him greater satisfaction than going out and doing the same thing over and over.

“Creating something happens when you make an album, especially when you write a lot of the songs for it.” Because it’s a challenge, it keeps you interested a bit longer. “I think I would’ve gotten bored just singing a long time ago if I didn’t write,” he remarked, so don’t expect him to quit composing anytime soon.

Alan Jackson was recently photographed bringing his daughter, Mattie Jackson, down the aisle as he officially welcomed her now-husband, Connor, into the family. “I wish Mattie and Connor Smith a lifetime of happiness.” “Livin’ on Love!” he said on Instagram, with a wedding photo of the newlywed couple.

Mattie’s wedding takes place four years after the death of her first husband in a horrific boating accident. In late 2021, she began dating Connor Smith, and they announced their engagement in September 2022. Eight months later, on May 12, 2023, the pair married at The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida.
