When a couple discovered a dog in distress in the sea, their dinner cruise on a yacht took an unexpected turn, prompting the crew to conduct an incredible rescue.
On board the Sanibel Harbor Princess, Terry Johns led a dinner cruise from Fort Myers Beach to Lighthouse Beach in Florida.
However, when a couple observed a dog in the water attempting to stay afloat, the cruise took an unexpected turn, according to WINK News.
Captain Johns told WINK, “I looked out, and I saw something in the water.” “Then I heard dogs, dogs, dogs,” all at once.
To save the dog, the captain and his crew sprang to action. Strong currents or a fall from a boat may have carried the animal in.
Kurt Echols, the co-captain, maneuvered the boat towards the puppy, allowing the crew to save it on the swim platform, according to People.

The staff and passengers provided the dog with food and water, expressed gratitude for her rescue, and described her as “very friendly.”
They carried the dog to the seaside, hoping to reunite her with her family. However, her microchip was illegible. Fortunately, news of the incident reached her owners.
Ben and Kathleen Baker’s dog, Ellie, went missing while on a boat excursion. They searched all over the waterways for her but couldn’t locate her.
They were distraught, saying, “I just assumed that was it.” Ben told WINK News, “I’m 72 years old, and I have probably cried more in the last 18 hours.”
On the other hand, this boat crew’s efforts led to the discovery, rescue, and reunification of Ellie with her family.
What a miracle! We are really grateful to everyone aboard this boat for supporting this puppy that went overboard and safely returned home!
