Donald Trump has threatened to sue ABC in response to Jimmy Kimmel’s comeback, expressing his frustration in a scathing tweet

Donald Trump made it clear that he was not pleased when Jimmy Kimmel returned to people’s televisions after his suspension.

Following the host’s remarks regarding Charlie Kirk’s killing, conservatives, including Donald Trump, ‘pre-empted’ Jimmy Kimmel Live! indefinitely.

Kimmel’s return after a ban of less than a week sparked disagreement among some people.

Some who were pleased by Disney’s initial cancellation of the program felt disappointed, while those who opposed the move said that Kimmel’s comeback was a significant win for free expression.

Trump, who had been delighted when Kimmel’s program was yanked off the air, turned to Truth Social on Tuesday night (September 23) to express his displeasure with the comedian’s comeback.

He tweeted, “I find it hard to believe that ABC Fake News has reinstated Jimmy Kimmel.”

ABC informed the White House that they had cancelled his show! Between then and now, his audience has vanished, and his ‘gift’ has never been present.

“I believe we’ll put ABC to the test on this. Let’s see how we do. The last time I went after them, they paid me $16 million.” This one sounds even more profitable.”

This appeared to be a reference to the settlement Trump reached with ABC last year in a defamation lawsuit he filed against the network.

During Kimmel’s opening monologue, he did not hold back in mocking Trump and hinted that the president played a hand in his show’s temporary suspension.

He stated, “The president of the United States has made it apparent that he wants me and the hundreds of individuals who work here dismissed from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their jobs because he cannot take a joke.

“One thing I did learn from Lenny Bruce and George Carlin and Howard Stern is that a government threat to silence a comedian the president doesn’t like is anti-American.”

Kimmel said with a chuckle, “You almost have to feel sorry for him; he tried his best to cancel me, and instead he forced millions of people to watch the show.”

People on social media have also responded to Trump’s threats, with some criticizing the president for his reaction.

One Twitter user noted, “Trump’s threat to sue over late-night jokes demonstrates that he still craves the spotlight he claims to hate.”

Another said, “Trump is now suing comedians. Nothing says ‘strong leader’ like becoming upset by late-night jokes.”

A different individual commented, “A lot of people were like, ‘Jimmy Kimmel being back on PROVES there was no government coercion against free speech,’ and then Trump just posted he’s going to sue ABC for putting Jimmy Kimmel back on.”

Someone else added, “After Trump’s performance at the UN today, I believe he is officially done on the international stage. Jimmy Kimmel is the least of his concerns.”
