Donna Mills has only had one long-term relationship, with Richard Holland. He donned various hats, including writer, producer, rock guitarist, and others.
They were together for several years before breaking up. Mills was comfortable with where she was and who she was, despite the fact that they were unmarried and had children.
Mills, 37, spoke about her relationship status as a blissfully unwed woman in 1983, after dating Holland for half a decade. The actress stated:
“I don’t see how being married provides any more security than not being married.”

“I was 54 at the time, and people told me, ‘You’re going to be so old [to] have a tiny baby running about.’ That was never my experience. I never felt older than the other mothers, who were most likely in their twenties.”

She also discussed comments about her adoption of a child of color, claiming that no one in her life had voiced any feelings about it. However, the adoring mother chose to join an organization that assisted her in addressing potential concerns, such as caring for Chloe’s hair.

Mills opted to devote her complete attention to parenting after welcoming Chloe because of how much she had earned throughout her successful career. In reality, she gave up nearly two decades of employment at the peak of her career to dedicate her time to Chloe. The actress remembered:
“Motherhood was what I wanted to experience, and so for 18 years, I really stopped doing everything else.”
She recalls working in the film business throughout the early phases of parenting, but when her daughter started school, she emphasized family.
