2013 saw Jon Bon Jovi invite a surprise attendee to the stage at Kensington Palace for the Centrepoint Gala Dinner. As he started to play “Livin’ on a Prayer,” he teased the crowd about a “karaoke kid” coming. That “kid” turned out to be Prince William, who supports the charity Centerpoint for the Homeless.
Despite his initial reluctance, Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift convinced Prince William to join them on stage. Swift and William provided supporting vocals for the three as they came together for an unforgettable performance of the rock song. With Swift’s support, the shy prince gained confidence and grew more noticeable as the song went on.

For Prince William, the performance was a big deal, and he subsequently said that it gave him more confidence. Even though he felt uncomfortable at first and couldn’t remember the lyrics, the king loved the memories of singing with Swift and Bon Jovi.
