Exhausted mother speaks to noisy teens in hotel and discovers note by her door the following day…

Here’s a heartwarming story about the Amt family, composed of John, Randi, and their three children. Recently, they found themselves staying in a local hotel, not for leisure, but due to significant flooding in their home caused by a toilet malfunction during their fall break.

John Amt jokingly remarked, “Staying in a hotel can be fun for a short while, but it can get challenging after a long stay.”

Their challenges increased when they tried to put their kids to bed amidst the busy hallway of the hotel. The hallway was filled with students from Eureka, Kansas, who were in town for the FFA convention. The Amts recalled how the students were quite noisy in the hallway, especially around 10:30 at night.

Initially, Randi felt frustrated and thought about approaching the students to ask for quieter behavior. However, she decided to wait for a better opportunity. That chance came the next night when she knocked on the students’ door.

Randi explained to them, “I understand you’re here for the FFA convention, and we want you to enjoy your time, but you were a bit loud last night, and you woke up my kids. I was hoping you could keep it down tonight.”

She also shared with them the reason for their extended hotel stay – their house had flooded, and they couldn’t return home. Understanding the situation, the students apologized for their noise the previous night and wished the Amt family well.

Later, Randi found a touching note on her hotel room floor. It said, “We’re sorry about your home. We wanted to give you something that might help you,” along with $40 in cash.

The next morning, when the Amt family met the FFA students in the hotel lobby to express their gratitude, the students revealed that they had heard a speech at the convention about the importance of spreading kindness. They had given cards to all attendees, encouraging them to find someone in need and perform a good deed.
