Famous actor passed away mid-performance due to a medical emergency…

Julien Arnold, a popular theatrical performer in Canada, died after suffering a medical emergency while playing in A Christmas Carol.

On Sunday, Nov. 24, he passed away during an evening performance of the stage show at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, according to a statement from the Punctuate! Theatre, which his wife, Sheiny Satanove, manages.

CBC News reported, citing an Alberta Health Services representative, that he died at the theater “despite resuscitation attempts” by paramedics. He was 60 years old, according to the Edmonton Journal.

According to the Citadel Theatre playbill, Arnold plays Marley and Mr. Fezziwig in the production, which runs until Christmas Eve.

The actor, who has previously appeared in The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Once, will receive a special tribute during this season’s run of A Christmas Carol, according to a statement from the theater.

People remembered him as a “cherished member of the Edmonton theatre community” who was “a gifted performer” with “charisma and talent.”

“Julien’s demise is a tremendous loss for his family, friends, fellow Carol company members, Citadel personnel, and the Edmonton city he adored. According to their statement, his presence brought joy, passion, and depth to every aspect, and we will greatly miss his artistic talents and giant hugs.

His wife has established a fundraiser to help with costs “related to his passing, including funeral costs, rent, groceries, and time off work to grieve.”

“Julien’s reach was wide, and we want to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to send condolences and support,” the description adds.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, the Citadel Theatre issued an update, thanking the community for their “ongoing kindness and understanding” as they mourned Arnold.

“Please know the Carol family feels the warmth and support of the community as they come together once again to share a story grounded in the importance of compassion, the power of generosity, and the resilience of the human spirit,” the news release stated.
