Suit lovers, rejoice: the news you’ve been waiting for is finally here.
As of today, Gabriel Macht, who portrayed Harvey Specter in Suits, has confirmed his return to the role.
Macht, who also acted as the show’s executive producer, will reprise his role as the dashing lawyer in the upcoming spin-off Suits: LA.
The actor co-starred in the courtroom drama for the first eight seasons before becoming the show’s single protagonist in the final season when Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle left.
When we last saw the sophisticated professional, he was leaving the legal firm where the program is based to join Patrick J. Adams, also known as Mike, in Seattle.
Macht’s character will now appear in the spin-off, which Netflix created after the show’s second season.
Harvey will appear in a limited role for a three-episode storyline on the program, which stars Stephen Amell.
According to Deadline, “Macht’s stint is a guest arc and is not a precursor to him potentially joining Suits LA full-time.”
Deadline reports that Ted Black, Amell’s protagonist, and a former prosecutor, will introduce Harvey to the program in this manner.
Macht’s Specter has a similar background, having previously worked as a criminal prosecutor before transitioning to business law.
Macht verified this by releasing the following video on Instagram with the caption: “When an old friend is in need… it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right.”
The video features the show’s classic opening music, which will be known to many Netflix viewers.
Suits surpassed records in 2023, with 57.7 billion minutes watched on the streamer.
Over five years after the conclusion of the original show, Netflix announced a spin-off due to the highest viewership of any show in a single year.

According to Deadline’s summary of the spin-off Suits: LA,
“Suits: L.A.” follows Ted Black (Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.
“His company is in a state of disaster, and to survive, he must accept a job that he has detested throughout his career.”
Ted is surrounded by a collection of individuals who are torn between their loyalty to Ted and each other, and they can’t help but blend their personal and professional lives.
“All this happens while the show slowly unravels the events that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved in order to start all over.”
