Renowned actress Mariska Hargitay, aged 59, recently took to Instagram to share a picture of her 17-year-old son during a Safari trip in Kenya. The doting mom, sporting Safari gear, shades, a hat, and a khaki top, sat in the front passenger seat of a four-by-four vehicle, with her handsome teenager son seated behind her, displaying his bright smile for the camera.

The public response to the image was marked by observations about the striking “resemblance” August Miklos Friedrich Hermann shares with his parents. Comments highlighted the divided opinions, with some noting his resemblance to his mom, Mariska, and others asserting a likeness to his dad, Peter Hermann.

In response to the mother-son resemblance, one admirer marveled, “You really said copy and paste with August’s face!” Meanwhile, referring to August’s similarity to his dad, another commented, “August really just went and took Peter’s entire face. ❤️”

Mariska and Peter welcomed August into the world on June 28, 2006. The dark-haired adolescent shares a close bond with Mariska, who often took him on travels from an early age, even on planes as early as six weeks old.

Recalling a lively incident on a flight, Mariska shared how August, once mobile, displayed curiosity and a social nature by exploring the plane despite the constraints of staying seated and wearing a seatbelt. She explained, “He’s such a curious and social little guy. I think he was going stir crazy sitting in a chair…”

Beyond his inquisitive nature, August is also a devoted big brother to his younger siblings, Amaya Josephine Hermann and Andrew Nicolas Hermann. When his little sister, Amaya, was adopted, August referred to her as “his baby” and expressed his determination to protect her.

Mariska revealed that August believed the adoptions of Amaya and Andrew were his ideas. She shared, “He said, ‘I want a baby sister,’ and Amaya came. Then he said, ‘I want a baby brother,’ and Andrew came.”

Concluding her statement, the 59-year-old humorously noted that August felt very powerful and overjoyed after the successful adoptions, as his wishes for younger siblings had come true.
