There appears to be confirmation of the Prison Break revival and finalization of casting decisions.
The Golden Globe-nominated series aired from 2005 to 2017, spanning five seasons and 90 episodes.
It tells the story of structural engineer Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who devises a complex plot to save his wrongly accused brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), from death row.
Sarah Wayne Callies plays Michael’s love interest, Dr. Sara Tancredi, while Robert Knepper portrays difficult convict Theodore ‘T-Bag’ Bagwell.
After four seasons, Prison Break returned in 2017 for a brief resurrection, but we hadn’t heard anything until last year.
Miller, the series’ primary actor, stated in 2020 that he would not be returning.
“I am not bothered about myself. No one can ‘bully’ me in this environment. I have too much power.’ Delete. Block. On Instagram, he wrote, “Deactivate, etc.”
“But I take seriously the notion of LGBT kids coming here who have recently come out of the closet or are exploring the concept… I don’t want to expose kids to misinformation.

“On a similar subject, I’m out. Of PB. Officially.
However, Entertainment Weekly revealed last year that the revival was officially in the works at Hulu, and Variety has now provided a disappointing update on the cast.
According to the site, the new narrative would ‘live in the same world as the original Prison Break but center on a new group of convicts.’
They also mention that Elgin James would helm the new prison series, with Dawn Olmstead, original creator Scheuring, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz.

The prospect of a revival has drawn varied reactions from fans online.
One user wrote, “Why do we need to reset everything?” I swear, STG reboots usually involve 100 times more s**t.
A colleague said, “How about a fresh idea for a new show? Let’s make this one of the best.”
“I couldn’t bring myself to watch the last season,” said a third person.
“They should just create a new show. Prison Break was fantastic, so it’s not a smart idea to make the comparison at this time,” someone else noted.
“Season 1 was enjoyable; the remainder was a waste of time and money. “Hopefully a reboot will do better,” another said.
I suppose we will have to wait and see what happens next.
