A teacher in Africa went viral after performing a song to her first-grade class about “private parts,” demonstrating where others should not touch.
Gelda Waterboer, a teacher at Rogate Primary School in Namibia, became an overnight TikTok star after posting a video of herself leading kids in a sing-along, which garnered 92 million views in just over a week.
“These are my private parts, private parts, private parts; no one should touch them, no one should see them,” she sang, passionately motioning to her chest, crotch, and rear.
“And if you touch my private parts, I will tell my mother, father, and teacher,” she said as her classmates sang along.
Waterboer, who frequently shares TikTok videos from her school, received much recognition for her boundary-enforcing teaching style.

“Yes. Louder!” Teaching kids not to be shy about this is so important,” one viewer remarked on the video.
“This is actually the level of seriousness needed for this,” a different person said.
The instructor responded to a few detractors who said that first-graders were too young to learn about predators.
“Teaching our children to say ‘no’ is not just about manners—it’s about protection,” Waterboer stated in a subsequent video.
“Every child must know that their body is theirs, and no one has the right to touch them in a way that feels wrong or uncomfortable.”
“It is our responsibility as adults, parents, and educators to create a safe space where children feel confident to speak up,” according to her.
