She was unexpectedly approached by her former tormentor from middle school, who had relentlessly bullied her for her passion for music, with a surprising offer: to perform at her wedding, free of charge!
Tiffany Moore exposed the audacity of this request by sharing screenshots of the conversation on social media. Read on to find out what unfolded!
The message from her former bully began, “Hey girl!!! It’s been a while. I’d love for you to play the violin at my October wedding ceremony. It would be the perfect gift, and you can use the photos and videos to build your portfolio. Win-win!”
Tiffany didn’t need help building her portfolio, however, as her resume boasts extensive experience with the violin, piano, ukulele, guitar, viola, cello, voice coaching, music theory, and songwriting. She even claimed to have received numerous accolades from The Knot, an online platform that connects engaged couples with local wedding professionals.
Tiffany responded promptly and directly. “Hi there. 1. It’s quite bold of you to assume I’d provide a $2,500 service for free. 2. You bullied me relentlessly in middle school when I was in the symphony. 3. Build my portfolio? I’ve been recognized by The Knot and Wedding Wire for six consecutive years. My ‘portfolio’ starts at twelve years old. I’ve been in the wedding industry for 19 years.”

The bride-to-be wasn’t pleased with Tiffany’s response, deeming her services “overpriced,” and asking for a special discount to “help a girl out.” “I’m not looking for difficult music, but I really want violin music for my big day,” she said. “I want us to be friends and move past the past.”
Tiffany declined the offer, not buying into the sudden change of heart. “Thanks, I already have friends,” she retorted. “I don’t have time to entertain your ignorance. My services are considered luxury offerings. Clients prefer to invest in wedding day entertainment from a seasoned professional who offers exceptional skills, top-notch instruments and equipment, and expertise in running weddings. That’s why people choose me, my dear.”
Surprisingly, the bride persisted, asking, “So, are you available on October 3rd? Thursday is the day. I can pay you $1,000, but that’s all I can afford, and it’s not bad for less than an hour of playing! PLUS, you’ll get a lot of exposure because there are 300 people on my guest list!”
Tiffany made a reference to the popular movie Mean Girls, about high school bullies. In the movie, Lindsay Lohan’s character asks her crush, Aaron Samuels, out on a date and she says, “It’s October 3rd.” To which Aaron Samuels responds, “WAIT! On Mean Girls Day, my old bully is getting married? This is excessive.”
“I have to decline your $1,000 offer and refuse to work for ‘exposure,’” Tiffany continued. “If you charge your 300 guests $5 each for entertainment, you can hire me to play music for them. Even if we dismiss the entertainment suggestion as absurd, the answer is still a firm no. As Phoebe Buffay once said, ‘I wish I could, but I don’t want to.'”
The bride’s tone turned serious. “What the heck, b**ch, who’s the mean chick now? Go cry about being too greedy and not being able to pay your bills,” she snapped. “Besides, you suck and you’re not even worth it.”
Tiffany responded calmly. “Oh, I’m so devastated,” she mockingly remarked. “But I’m out of tissues, so I’ll have to use the tips I received this weekend from my clients to wipe my tears.”
Social media users quickly took notice of the exchange and commended Tiffany for standing up for herself. Tiffany later updated, revealing that the bully had threatened legal action after seeing the screenshots online. However, Tiffany wasn’t worried about any legal repercussions as she hadn’t included the woman’s name in her posts.
On her Instagram stories, Tiffany said, “It’s clear that 7 million of you are concerned about bullying.” “I appreciate your kind words and support. Confronting a bully empowers us all. As someone who was also bullied, this feels like a victory for all of us,” one person commented.
