George Clooney reflects on the various movies he has worked in with his Wolfs castmate and old friend, Brad Pitt.
While attending the Wolfs premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, September 1, George, 63, reflected on his many years of friendship with Pitt, 60—but not without a few lighthearted digs.
“There’s nothing good about it,” he quipped to people, shaking his head as he signed autographs on the carpet. “It’s all a disaster.”
George got serious, saying, “It’s fun to work with people you know really well.”
He and the Fight Club actor attended the premiere with their significant others, Amal Clooney and Pitt’s girlfriend, Ines de Ramon.

In the thriller Wolfs, Pitt and Clooney play lone fixers assigned to the same task. Over the years, the two have appeared in some films together, including The Ocean’s Trilogy, Burn After Reading, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
George also addressed a recent contentious New York Times piece at the festival on Sunday, in which sources claimed he and Pitt received “more than $35 million each” for their roles in Wolfs.
“It was a fascinating piece, and whatever her source for our compensation was, it was millions and millions of dollars lower than what was stated.” And I’m only saying that because I believe it’s horrible for our business if that’s what people consider to be the standard bearer for salaries,” George stated before the film’s debut. “I think that’s terrible; it’ll make it impossible to make films.”

The latest GQ featured George and Pitt candidly discussing their relationship and how they support each other when “things get bumpy.”
“We’ve been friends for a very long time,” George told the magazine. “And it’s enjoyable because we check in with one another on a regular basis, which is an important aspect of this. Things get complex in life, and you constantly need to make sure everyone is okay.”
Pitt further stated that his coach is “probably the best at understanding, seeing the chessboard, and the potential moves.”
“I’ll call George on numerous occasions when things get bumpy,” he told me.
A source told People in February that the longtime pals were thrilled to work on another film together.
“Brad and George are forever friends,” the person added. “They enjoy and appreciate each other regardless of how many years have passed since their last engagement. They have a long history together and were delighted to collaborate on this project.
“Wolfs was a meaty project, and both were very interested in it,” the insider said. “They are excited about the film and enjoy the hell out of it as time leads up to the release.”
Wolfs opens in cinemas on September 20 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ on September 27.
