George Clooney and his wife, Amal, made a grand entrance at the Venice Film Festival.
The 64-year-old actor and 47-year-old lawyer walked the red carpet together on Thursday, August 28, ahead of the premiere of his film, Jay Kelly.
Amal lit up the carpet in a body-hugging fuchsia minidress with a billowing train. She paired her gold Aquazzura Forever More Sandal 105 heels with a gold handbag. Amal wore her long hair down in a beautiful wave, which blew in the Italian breeze along with her train!
George dressed classically in a black tuxedo with a white button-down shirt and black bow tie. He proudly walked his wife around the carpet and posed for photographs with her, clutching her arm.

Prior to the red carpet, George skipped a few engagements at the Venice Film Festival, including the press conference earlier in the day on August 28.
At the press conference, Noah Baumbach, Jay Kelly’s director, explained why the actor was not there after the moderator suggested he wouldn’t be.
“As you may know, George Clooney is unable to attend due to a severe sinus ailment. We think he should be on the red carpet tonight, but he is extremely unhappy he cannot be with us,” the moderator remarked, prompting Baumbach, 55, to add, “Even movie stars get ill.”
Earlier last week, pictures showed George and Amal arriving in Venice by boat, both looking effortlessly elegant. The Oscar winner donned a black polo short-sleeve blouse and beige slim-fit slacks, accented with a brown belt that matched his suede shoes.
Amal, for her part, exuded easy summer elegance in a stunning butter-yellow pencil bodycon dress from Balmain’s 2026 resort collection, according to Vogue. She finished her appearance with white slingback shoes, enormous sunglasses, and a small white and gold handbag.

The couple was seen walking hand in hand around the “Floating City” with grins on their faces, admiring the scenery of the water surrounding them. George and Amal are both familiar with Italy, having owned a property there.
On June 26, the couple appeared on the red carpet for The King’s Trust Awards in London. The actor from Good Night and Good Luck dressed up for the occasion in a blue suit with a pristine white shirt and a pop collar, while Amal also went monochrome in a white column halter dress with metal embellishments.
She revealed a glimpse of flesh on her legs owing to two daring cuts. When the lawyer arrived at the event, she donned giant sunglasses to protect her eyes from the sun.

Their red carpet outfits were not a one-time occurrence; the Clooneys have a history of making every outing a style moment. In July, they were pictured on a date night in Lake Como, Italy, with Amal wearing a glittering one-shoulder dress with matching strappy shoes and the actor dressed in a stylish navy blue suit jacket and matching pants.
Amal has also shone brilliantly on her own, previously attending the Cannes Film Festival alone in a black strapless gown that was not only eye-catching but also daring enough to defy the festival’s new dress rule. The activist wore a similar strapless dress at the premiere of Bono: Stories of Surrender.
