People say he never gets upset because of his harsh personality on television. But now, the award-winning chef is speaking out about one of his life’s most painful experiences: the death of his kid. Keep reading to learn more.

Gordon Ramsay and his wife, Tana Ramsay, have been married for well over two decades. The couple has five children. Megan is their eldest daughter, born in 1998. A year later, in 1999, they had fraternal twins, Jack and Holly. Their daughter Matilda was born in 2001, and their youngest, Oscar, arrived in 2019.

However, in 2016, the family had a heartbreaking tragedy that altered them. The world-famous chef had posted a black-and-white photo of himself and his wife from the Iron Man European Tour, along with a description of what had transpired.

He began by thanking fans for their support for him and his wife in recent weeks. Then he told them what had occurred, saying, “We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months.”

Four years later, Tara Ramsay finally spoke up about her experiences. In November 2020, she discussed the incident in an interview. This occurred when Chrissy Teigen openly announced her miscarriage in 2020 and was upfront and honest about the entire experience on social media. She faced significant criticism for her openness about the entire situation.

Tara Ramsay went out of her way to encourage Chrissy Teigen, even complimenting her on her honesty. She stated, “I find it very emotional, and I thought she was amazing.” When I read about her position, I didn’t know all the details, but a lot of it seemed very similar to mine.”

She went on: “It brings it all back, and I think she was amazing for talking about it and posting the photos that she did.”

She recalled her miscarriage and how others would have avoided the issue if it never occurred. She went on: “I have to be honest, when it happened to me, I found it hard when people would talk to me and not mention it because it was like it never happened.”

“All I wanted to do was talk about it with friends, family, or anyone who asked me about it, because it was incredibly hard.” She elaborated: “You go from having a baby kicking inside of you to suddenly it’s not there, and it was a really hard experience.”

She also mentioned how fantastic Gordon had been throughout the situation. She went on: “Gordon was amazing, and he’s always been one to talk about everything, and he was very good at sort of talking it out of me and never making me feel that, ‘Oh, you know, maybe we shouldn’t talk about it’.”

In September 2023, Gordon Ramsay finally spoke up about the death of his son in 2016. They named the infant Rocky and were thrilled to have him join their family.

The 56-year-old renowned chef stated, “Losing Rocky was incredibly traumatic. No book or program can help you get through that loss.”

He described how “life-changing” the entire experience had been. Tana had some health difficulties, so they went from celebrating the baby’s health one day to discovering she miscarried the next. All of this occurred within 24 hours.

He stated the terrible occurrence drew his family closer together.
