Joy Ryan, Brad Ryan’s grandmother, and the young man are currently engaged in a mission.
An individual who is 41 years old and a someone who is 92 years old have the shared goal of seeing all 63 national parks in the United States.
In addition to this, they are rapidly approaching the point where they will be successful in achieving their objective.
The multi-generational vacation had its start in October 2015 when two people from Duncan Falls, Ohio, decided to go on an excursion to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

During an appearance on “Good Morning America,” Brad stated, “I felt bad that she was always living vicariously through my stories.”
When I found out that she had never traveled to any of the wild locations on Earth, including deserts, mountains, the ocean, or any of the other natural wonders that this planet has to offer, I thought it was my duty to make sure that she had some memories to add to her life story.

Prior to the beginning of their journey, Joy had never witnessed the ocean, a mountain, or the movement of a significant river.
Before they signed their agreement, Brian and Joy did not have a very good relationship with one another.
When they finally caught up with one another after a ten-year absence, it was at his sister’s wedding, where Brad found out that his grandmother was “quite near to death.”
The last time the two of them had communicated with one another was ten years ago.
After ten years, you can’t just pick up where you left off like nothing has changed.
As a result, you are compelled to make a choice, and I concluded that the most effective approach to move forward would be to just produce something that is more aesthetically pleasing,” said Brad.

It came as a surprise to Brad that traveling with his elderly grandma was not quite as difficult as he had anticipated it being to be.
The two individuals were having the time of their life at that very moment.
Granny Joy shared her philosophy on life by saying, “I’ve always tried to live my life in a good manner, and it didn’t damage to try something new at least once.”
I didn’t want there to be any regrets on your part about not doing it the next day.”
Granny has participated in activities such as white water rafting, ziplining, and flying in a small aircraft.
As Brad began updating his social media accounts with posts about their vacations, he attracted a lot of attention to himself.

Prior to the arrival of COVID, Brad and Joy had previously been to 29 different parks.
Brad continued by saying, “All that was left for us to do was to hope that things would change and that those opportunities would still be available, and then to be appreciative for everything that we had been able to experience and see up to that point.”
They decided to follow their plan and traveled to Alaska in July 2021 with the intention of visiting eight of the state’s national parks.
During their time spent hiking near glaciers and interacting closely with wild animals, they made some new acquaintances.

I was finally able to fulfill a lifelong dream when I saw bears catching fish for themselves. It was an amazing experience. “There is no question in my mind that you had a good time,” Grandmother Joy stated.
The next location on Brad and Joy’s itinerary is the National Park of American Samoa, which will bring them one step closer to reaching their ultimate goal of visiting all of the country’s national parks.
They anticipate that this journey, which will be their last, will be filled with both happy and sad memories, but they are looking forward to taking it.

Grandma Joy reflected on the event and referred to it as a “wonderful adventure” in her thoughts afterward.
“This has truly been the most lovely and fantastic adventure that one could ever hope for. And even if I could, I wouldn’t give it up for anything.”
