There have been several stories over the years of people discovering buried gems. Before being compelled to flee the nation, one guy set out to find the family property that his father had hidden.

This man had learned the knack of detecting concealed goods from his father, but it had not been an easy road. Given that they had been buried for seventy years, there were concerns that these artifacts might not endure the test of time.
Fortunately, the goods were identified and discovered to be in perfect shape, much to their joy. The man returned to his old house and went to the attic to look for a little rope tied to one of the wooden panels. Opening the shelves with this rope revealed an amazing collection of items dating back decades.

The guy had been concerned for years that the house’s repeated roof repairs would have harmed the buried riches. His anxieties were allayed when he discovered seventy gifts meticulously hidden in the attic by his father.
Despite his best efforts, he was unable to interpret the English necessary to remove the boards as his father had planned. Some of the parcels were open, while others were still wrapped in brown paper. Newspapers, hat hangers, paintings, skis, paperweights, pencils, umbrellas, school tables, unopened cigarettes, badges, books, socks, and sewing tools were among the items in the collection. Surprisingly, everything was still in working order.

Because of their historical significance, the artifacts are now displayed at a museum in the Czech city of Usti nad Labem. The museum’s director was astounded to uncover such a secret “German property” in the neighborhood.
The amount of stuff that could fit into such a small space was simply incredible. It took more than an hour to take everything out and study the riches.

While Schlattner regretted that he couldn’t retain the riches for himself, he promised to aid in identifying the property. He reflected on the find, saying, “We thought we’d come back one day and find a property there.”
