Nick Moran, a Harry Potter actor, had to undergo emergency surgery when a neck ailment became more serious.
Moran played the antagonist Scabior in both portions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He is also recognized for his parts in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Accident Man, and The Musketeer.
Moran’s friend Terry Stone said the actor complained of neck pain, but instead of seeing a doctor, he just “placed some deep heat on it.”
Stone stated Moran was ultimately persuaded to see his doctor, and before he knew it, the 55-year-old was in the emergency department, informed he required surgery because they had discovered something ‘life-threatening.’

Stone told MailOnline, “I spoke with one of his family members, and he damaged his neck somehow, and it’s affecting his spinal cord and some of the things that operate your speech and your legs.”
According to Stone, physicians informed Moran that if he did not get the treatment, he feared losing his ability to move or speak.
Ultimately, the actor underwent surgery, in which surgeons cut into his spine and removed four bones from his neck.
Stone provided an update on Moran’s current condition, telling the news outlet, “He’s recovering, but [doctors] basically said [ahead of surgery] that he might never walk or talk again, which was traumatic.” He’s not in good condition, but when he came out of the procedure, I was like, ‘Thank God,’ because I believe he’d decided he’d rather not walk or talk than die.

He went on to discuss, “They had to replace [bones in his neck] with artificial bone; it was microsurgery, and because there are so many nerves around the neck and spine, this made the operation tricky with those awful chances of not being able to speak or walk again.”
In response to Stone’s comments, Moran’s representative told UNILAD that, while there had been some inaccurate reporting about the actor’s health, he had surgery ‘a little over a week and a half ago’ and is now home, ‘walking, talking, and making a full recovery.’
“Nick will be back working on his next film shortly and is excited to be back in the studio tending to his busy schedule,” he said.
He went on, “Nick would like to thank all of the well-wishers and assure them that he is well and appreciative of their support.”
