Hugh Laurie, the renowned actor, was spotted strolling in the sunlight with his beloved dog, displaying a demeanor that differed from his usual energetic self.

Dressed warmly for the launch of his new sitcom, “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?” Hugh wore a navy sweater, a dark blue hat, black slacks, and sneakers. The 62-year-old actor, famous for roles in “Blackadder” and “House,” is now involved in a murder mystery project based on Agatha Christie’s 1934 novel of the same name.

The production boasts star-studded costumes featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest names, promising an intriguing retelling of one of Christie’s most famous works. Will Poulter takes on the role of Bobby Jones, the son of a vicar, with Frances Derwent portraying Lady Frances Derwent, his daring companion. Together, they join forces to solve a mysterious murder.

Emma Thompson and Jim Broadbent play the aristocratic parents of Lady Frances Marcham, portrayed by Frances Derwent. Hugh Laurie, in addition to directing the series, takes on the role of psychotherapist Dr. James Nicholson in the miniseries.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Laurie revealed that he was a fan of the novel since his teenage years, appreciating its intriguing mystery—a curiosity that still resonates with him.

“I am incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to write and tell another story centered on this fantastic group of people, a work I have come to greatly appreciate. I was determined to present my best and bring my A-game to ensure my efforts fully captured the essence of the ensemble.”
