Here’s how Tom Hanks reacts to Cher’s acting talent during Talk Show appearance together

Tom Hanks may have just become Cher’s biggest admirer!

Julia Roberts, an Oscar winner, and Timothée Chalamet, a star of Wonka, joined the two actors on The Graham Norton Show on Friday. And they all praised their fellow talk show guest, Cher, 77.

When Cher joked on the show that she wasn’t “a big Cher fan” and didn’t see her own movies or listen to her own music too frequently, Hanks retorted, “You’re missing out.”

“Motion picture perfection—Mamma Mia! 2,” declared Hanks, 67, of the 2018 blockbuster. “When she sings ‘Fernando,’ the world comes to a halt.” Suns and stars collide. It’s flawless!”

After Chalamet, 27, and Roberts, 56, jumped in with references to Moonstruck and Silkwood, Hanks made an offer to the rest of the talk show guests. “I think we should all go to the theater and watch Cher’s movies right now,” he said with a laugh.

“Let’s have a Cher-a-thon!” Roberts went on to say:

On the broadcast, Hanks and Roberts, who posed for a few behind-the-scenes shots with Cher, also talked about their love of soccer.

When presenter Norton inquired about Roberts’ support for Manchester United, the Leave the World Behind actress revealed that she had even visited the team’s home stadium, Old Trafford. “I’m a true fan,” she stated before showing off a few images, including one of her posing with Marcus Rashford and another with her name on the back of a shirt.

“I have three children, and when they were really little and started playing soccer and watching it on TV—and I had no idea how exciting it was to watch it on TV—and we just got so into it,” Roberts, who has three children with husband Danny Moder, added. “Somehow Manchester United became our team, the Moder family team.”

Hanks also spoke about his passion for Aston Villa F.C., a side he claims is “doing quite well this year,” despite a few jeers from the studio crowd. “Anybody can root for Manchester United,” Hanks said, before Roberts punched back, “Oh, that’s not cool.”

Hanks became a fan of the team during his “first time” in England, when he saw the team’s name on the BBC and was captivated. “Aston Villa, well, that sounds like a lovely little place.”

“And then it turns out to be in Birmingham.” It’s a fantastic location. “Villa Park is a magnificent place to visit,” he said, before sharing a photo of himself cheering for the squad. “And they gave me a jersey that said ‘Julia’ on the back.”

Chalamet called the chat show lineup of himself, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Cher “a trip.”

“Tom’s talking about gravity; I’m up here with Cher and Julia Roberts,” the Oscar contender joked, to which Hanks replied, “Well, you’re in the big time now; get used to it!” By the way, would you mind getting us some sandwiches?”
