Passing judgment comes easy, but seeking assistance can be a challenging task. Rather than looking down on those who require help, it’s essential to meet them where they are and contribute in easing their burdens. Last winter, Ronda Chung from Little Rock, Arkansas, witnessed an act of kindness that beautifully embodied this philosophy. Touched by the experience, Ronda took to Facebook to share the heartwarming story.
“El Sur Street Food Co. epitomizes compassion and local love,” Ronda expressed. “A person walked in, asking if they had any food to spare, and the person behind the counter responded, ‘I would love to pay for your food,’ offering recommendations.”

Continuing her account, Ronda shared, “Without hesitation, they suggested the substantial Con Todo baleada instead of offering cheap items like chips and salsa or a pupusa. They even inquired if the person preferred dining in or taking the food to go. When the individual expressed concern about bothering the business, the counter attendant reassured him, saying, ‘I am not bothered by you being here,’ and offered a table. It was not just amazing food but amazing people. This is the Arkansas I aspire to see.”
This resonates with the world we all envision, Ronda. Everyone deserves to eat, and the gesture extended by the worker went beyond providing nourishment; it reflected respect, something truly invaluable!
