When you eat a healthy mandarin, getting your dose of vitamins and improving your mood, there’s no need to throw away the peels, as they retain their aroma and beneficial properties for a long time.

Every year, I dry the peels and make an air freshener from them. I dry them on the radiator until they become crunchy. At first, it seems like they no longer smell after drying, but as soon as you break the peel, the entire room fills with a citrus fragrance.

To make the freshener, you need a small fabric bag.

Place the broken peels inside, then add the coffee beans. Tie the bag, and the freshener is ready to use.

This natural freshener is a wonderful replacement for store-bought chemical ones. You can place these scented bags on a shelf in your closet, between clothes, or in the pockets of a coat or fur coat to repel moths.

If you prefer, you can skip the coffee and just use the mandarin peels. Your clothes will then smell like citrus.
You can also break the dried peels and grind them into a powder using a coffee grinder. This powder has many beneficial properties and smells amazing.
When I bake buns, I store this powder in baby food glass jars and add it to the dough. Vanilla can take a break!

I also season meat with mandarin powder, giving the dish a special touch.
It can also be added to tea, making it very vitamin-rich.

Just be sure to wash the store-bought mandarins under running water.
So, take full advantage of the mandarin season to reap as many benefits as possible.”
