In 2024, Billy Joel made a stunning comeback with his first single in over ten years, titled “Turn the Lights Back On.” For an extra special touch during his live show, Joel teamed up with rock icon Sting for a memorable rendition of Joel’s lesser-known track, “Big Man on Mulberry Street.” This exciting collaboration happened at their joint concert at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on February 24, 2024.
Sting wowed the crowd when he took the stage dressed in a sleek silver suit and black fedora, perfectly setting the mood for the jazzy song. Sharing lead vocals with Joel, Sting stole the spotlight while Joel showcased his impressive piano skills. Sting’s infectious energy was evident as he interacted with the band and showed off some impressive dance moves, much to the audience’s delight.

The audience was treated to an unforgettable night, with Sting performing a 16-song set and Joel delivering an extensive 24-song performance. Joel’s setlist included many of his timeless hits and a few unexpected covers, like The Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up” and “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” Not to be outdone, Sting brought rapper Shaggy on stage to join him for a duet of “Englishman in New York,” adding another exciting element to the evening.
