The 55-year-old actress recently chatted with Allure, admitting that she and her body “really love each other.”
“We need to love our bodies.” It is doing the best it can. “It’s been with us since the beginning, so we can’t be too hard on it,” The Morning Show star urged. She then remembered an older man from a prior shoot, which prompted the thinking.
“I had observed him at several different jobs, and he consistently worked hard.” I said, ‘You are outstanding. I mean, you never stop. She explained, “I just don’t allow the old man in.” “There was something about that.”
“Of course, we’re all going to grow older, but how can we thrive as we grow older?” questioned the lady. “And that means giving your body the care it deserves. Personally, I enjoyed my 30s more than my 20s. I was a nightmare.” I didn’t understand working out until my 30s and 40s.”
The Friends alum said that she embraces aging “with positivity and gratitude.”
“We’re still here.” What is the alternative? I am trying not to worry about becoming older. I try not to worry about my age. “The world will always be telling us what your age is and what women should do in society when you’re this or that,” she said.
Despite having a more positive relationship with her body, the Emmy winner stated, “I have a really hard relationship with sleep.”
“I really want to love it, and I’m sure it wants to love me, but we’ve had a difficult time, especially over the last 10, 15 years.” “It’s just difficult to shut the brain down and tell the committee to stop talking,” she explained.
The actress stated that she has “been really trying to work on [her] sleep hygiene.”
“During the week, I’ve been trying hard to go to bed at 10 p.m., turn everything off, and then sit there and let the world smash in. I’ve been striving to meet that challenge for myself. Some days you’re brilliant and on target; other days you’re just not.”
“I’m a firm believer in trying not to be too hard on oneself since the world is now cruel, aggressive, and negative.” Why would we subject ourselves to such harshness? She asked.
Along with “trying not to be hard” on oneself, the actress added that she also uses the 80/20 strategy. “Eighty percent healthy living, and the other twenty percent: go have a cocktail, eat your pizza and burgers, and stay up late with your pals. There’s a balance,” she explained.
