Jennifer Coolidge says she’d rather not have kids of her own, but…

Jennifer Coolidge may be bringing “A Cinderella Story” to life.

In an interview for her new British GQ cover, the star discussed parenting and whether it’s something she’d ever contemplate. Coolidge, 61, told the magazine that she is now unmarried and spends a lot of time in Los Angeles, where many of her friends are settling down—a lifestyle she isn’t interested in just yet.

“I think I’d appreciate it more if I had kids or something,” commented Coolidge. “I’m very, very immature.”

Coolidge went on to remark that she could see herself gravitating more toward becoming a stepmother than having children of her own, according to Phoebe Reilly, who interviewed the actor.

Despite encouragement from her friends regarding the potential of adoption, the “White Lotus” actor claimed her youthful personality is truly why babies haven’t been on the cards for her yet.

“I think that has kept me from having children, because I’m sort of a child,” she said, adding, “Maybe if I had kids, I would’ve had to have grown up.”

Coolidge also stated her perspective may have been impacted by never having dated someone who is “laid-back” and “full of joy.”

“Like someone who laughs at all your shortcomings,” she continued. “That’s never who I choose for myself.”

She previously told The Guardian in 2013 that after playing Stifler’s mom in “American Pie,” she continued to date an array of younger men over the following 10 to 15 years.

More recently, after winning the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2023 Golden Globes in January, Coolidge told Page Six she’s yet to find that particular someone.

“Oh, I don’t know. I mean, in my dating life, I’ve never found somebody exactly suitable for me. I haven’t discovered the love of my life,” she remarked.

But whether or not Coolidge decides to pursue motherhood in any manner, she definitely has experience portraying the character of a stepmother onscreen.

One of her more famous performances to date is Fiona Montgomery, the evil stepmother of Hilary Duff’s character Sam in “A Cinderella Story,” published in 2004.

In the film, Coolidge exhibited her unique sense of humor and ability to steal scenes as the self-involved and selfish stepmother, particularly in the sequence when she memorably informs Sam that she isn’t “very pretty” and “not very bright.”

“I’m so glad we had that talk,” she says.
