Jennifer Garner’s elder kid is getting ready to fly the coop.
The Family Switch actress, 51, appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday, discussing with co-hosts Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa how things are going while her daughter Violet, 17, is visiting colleges.
“We hear you’re about to have an adult in your household.” Consuelos tells Garner
“I am. Garner answers, “I’m about to have an adult.” “It’s been three days. My eldest is turning 18 in three days. “Can you believe it, guys?”

“Oh wow. And you’re going on college tours and everything?” Ripa inquires.
“Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.” “She’s right in the middle of it all,” Garner adds.
“It’s exciting,” adds Ripa.
“It is exciting,” the actress says. “I can see the stress, despite the fact that excitement and stress go hand in hand.” But she’s managing it like a champ and is completely in command. ‘Are you doing this? Are you doing this?’ I don’t have to ask. She is an independent thinker. And I’m really proud of her whatsoever.”
Garner has two children with ex-husband Ben Affleck: daughter Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 11.
Garner also talks about her children’s extracurricular activities when Consuelos questions her about being a “sports mom and a debate mom.”

“I’m a basketball mom, but I’m also a debate mom, which means battening down the hatches and saying, ‘Please don’t debate me right now.'” “Like, please, please, please talk to someone else if you want to fight,” Garner adds.
“Don’t you think debate is an underrated art form?” Ripa inquires.
“It is incredible for developing confidence and the ability to articulate an argument.” “I grew up in the South, and I didn’t know how to argue until I was 40!” Garner cracks jokes.
