The Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot on April 29, 2011.
To celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a special glimpse into their wedding day. They released an unseen photo from the occasion, captioned “13 years ago today!” The black-and-white portrait captures the couple smiling together, with Kate holding her bouquet, predominantly made of Queen Elizabeth’s favorite flower, lily of the valley.

Kate looks radiant in Queen Elizabeth’s Cartier Halo Tiara and a white V-neck gown with lace overlay by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, worn during the church service at Westminster Abbey. Prince William, on the other hand, is seen in a black uniform of the Blues and Royals, a change from his ceremony attire, the red tunic of the Irish Guards.
The credit for the new image goes to Millie Pilkington, who expressed her excitement and honor in sharing the portrait. The couple’s wedding anniversary was also commemorated by Westminster Abbey, sharing a video of the newlyweds leaving the landmark after the ceremony in 2011.

Prince William and Princess Kate met at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2001, tying the knot a decade later. Queen Elizabeth bestowed upon them the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their wedding day. Since then, they’ve welcomed three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Their anniversary comes amidst Princess Kate’s battle with cancer, announced via a video message in March. Prince William has been a constant support to her throughout, reflecting the strength of their bond as a couple and as parents to their children.
In April 2023, the couple celebrated their 12th anniversary with a new photo taken by photographer Matt Porteous in the Norfolk countryside, showcasing their close bond as they rode bicycles together. Anmer Hall, their country home on the Sandringham estate, holds special significance as a place where the family finds solace and comfort.
