Keanu Reeves’ reply to a 9-year-old boy who declares him his favorite actor breaks hearts

If it wasn’t already obvious, Keanu Reeves is a really, really kind guy.

You’ve probably heard the stories and seen the videos, unless you’ve been living under a rock. You’ll realize that despite his megastar status, millions of dollars in wealth, and tremendous renown, Reeves is a down-to-earth person who has never thought of himself as above compassion and generosity.

Every few months, Reeves does something new to remind us that he’s the gold standard when it comes to A-list celebrities putting others before themselves and acting as though they actually care about the common public.

Reeves, well-known for his work on blockbuster blockbusters, has recently demonstrated his ability as a comic book writer. Along with Matt Kindt, he co-created and co-wrote the series BRZRKR, which was the biggest single-selling issue since Star Wars in 2015.

A nine-year-old Matrix enthusiast approached Keanu at a recent book signing to inform him that the Matrix star was his “favorite actor.” What was Keanu’s reaction?

It’s as healthy as you’d expect.

When your celebrity shines as brightly as Keanu Reeves’, you can bet there aren’t many days when you don’t run across someone who wants you to take a photo with them or sign an autograph.

We may imagine that the rigmarole must make us weary at times—after all, it’s only reasonable to think that having people want a piece of you all the time would wear you down—but witnessing Keanu engage with his fans would never lead you to believe that.

Over the years, the 58-year-old has demonstrated his enormous heart and compassion on several occasions. Consider the time he answered a boy’s rapid-fire inquiries after a long journey with kindness. Or how about the time Sandra Bullock stated that he surprised her with champagne and truffles after she confessed to him that she’d never eaten them before?

We could keep on. The point is, Keanu Reeves is a really kind person, so it’s no wonder that he’s making the rounds on the internet again after making contact with a nine-year-old fan.

According to accounts, the little youngster approached Reeves during a book signing and told him, “I’m such a big fan!”

Reeves can be heard asking the boy’s name in footage released by IGN. Keanu introduces himself when the nine-year-old says “Noah” (as if there was any need).

“You’re probably my favorite actor on the planet!” In the video, Noah says:

Keanu is then seen with a radiant smile. “Oh my gosh, Noah, thank you!” he exclaims.

The 58-year-old actor then asked his little admirer whether he’d seen Duke Caboom, the doll portrayed by Reeves in Doll Story 4.

“He’s definitely my favorite character!” Noah responds.

Keanu’s excitement shines through in these exchanges, not simply his politeness. Fans were quick to point out that the John Wick star seemed to be just as delighted to interact with people as they were with him.

They say you should never meet your idols, but we think it’s safe to ignore such advice in the case of Keanu.
