Keanu Reeves is going to the races!
The 60-year-old John Wick actor made his professional racing debut on Saturday, October 5, at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway, according to the Associated Press. Reeves qualified 31st out of 35 cars for the Toyota GR Cup, a series that runs alongside the Indy 8 Hour race.
At the start of the 45-minute race’s second half, Reeves’ vehicle spun out at turn 9 (without colliding with anyone). The uninjured Speedstar was able to reenter the race and finish 25th.

Reeves, who reached as high as 21st at one point in the race, will race again on Sunday, October 6.
In homage to his July-released graphic novel The Book of Elsewhere, he drove a red No. 92 BRZRKR vehicle.
This was not Reeves’ first time driving in an auto racing competition. According to the Associated Press, in 2009, he competed in and won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity race.
The actor enjoys racing. In July, he and his girlfriend Alexandra Grant attended the last day of the MotoGP Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland in Germany.

He also attended the Formula One British Grand Prix qualifying race in July 2022. “It was wet, but it was thrilling,” he commented about the experience at the time, according to Express.
“It was incredible to be so close. “Silverstone and rain—perfect,” he said. I think being that close and seeing the speed and how they’re turning and exiting turns is unbelievable.”
The Matrix actor is also the host and producer of Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, a four-part documentary on the 2009 Formula One World Championship available on Hulu and Disney+.
