Kristen Stewart gets married!
The Twilight actor, 35, married Dylan Meyer in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 20, according to TMZ.
According to the site, the pair exchanged vows at home in front of a small number of loved ones, including Ashley Benson and her husband, Brandon Davis, after getting a marriage certificate from the courthouse.
Stewart’s representative did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Stewart and Meyer, who made their love official on Instagram in October 2019, were engaged in 2021. During an interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show that year, Stewart quipped that Meyer, 37, the daughter of Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nicholas Meyer, had proposed before her.
“It is not a guarantee that I will be the one, you know?” With two girls, you never know who’s going to play what weird f—— gender role, and we don’t do that or think about it in those terms,” the actress stated to presenter Howard Stern.
“So I said, ‘Wait, well, I’m not the one for sure.'” And so I was sort of kidding for a while, like, ‘No, I want to be the one to propose, like, I want to be proposed to,’ and then she just took that bowl and did it. She expressed her admiration for Meyer’s proposal, stating that it exceeded her expectations.
Stewart had already spoken with Stern about the first time she told Meyer she loved her. “It was really late, and we were in some s—– bar, and her friends were there or whatever, and they walked out, and I was just like, ‘Oh, man, I’m so f—— in love with you.’ Like, done,” she recalled in a November 2019 visit on the shock jock’s show. “It wasn’t like a thing, and it was also so obvious.”
In early 2022, Stewart provided an update on her wedding preparations, telling late-night host Stephen Colbert that she’d want to throw a “big party or something”—but” that she could also see getting married on the spur of the moment.
“We might just go do it this weekend, I don’t know, and then, like, just hang out with everyone afterwards,” she told me. “I simply want to do it, you understand? I am not a skilled planner. I can’t make plans for supper.”
Stewart subsequently told CBS Sunday Morning that the wedding will “happen when it’s supposed to happen,” but she also did not want to stay engaged for five years. You understand that we want to do it.
Though the couple has kept their relationship hushed throughout the years, they have provided rare insights into their love story. Meyer fondly referred to Spencer as her “favorite Shrimp” in an April 2023 tribute to Stewart’s 33rd birthday.
“Sweetheart, I adore you more than all the colors of green, the phases of the moon, and all the cats in Los Angeles.” I love you more than Chunking Express, Denis Johnson’s Already Dead, or the Stooges’ Raw Power,” Meyer said on Instagram. “I love you more than a Domino’s pizza when you’re stoned, a Ricky’s fish taco when you’re hungover, and EVEN more than a plate of wings — hot and extra crispy — from Rustic, aka the pinnacle of my capacity to love.”
She went on, “Some may argue that’s too much love, but I think those folks are squares. Go big, or go home”! Happy birthday, dude! I adore you.”
Meyer said, “Find me under the covers hiding from the happiness police” when she posted her first Instagram snap with Stewart in October 2019, which showed the two kissing.
