Kurt and Goldie Hawn have four children: Boston Russell, whom Kurt had with ex-wife Season Hubley; Oliver and Kate Hudson from Goldie’s previous engagement with Bill Hudson; and Wyatt Russell, the couple’s youngest.

Wyatt, 37, rose to prominence after appearing in 22 Jump Street (2014) and Table 19 (2017).

And now, the father and son will share the screen in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which explores the aftermath of Godzilla’s fight with the Titans in San Francisco.

The new 10-part series depicts two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to investigate their family’s ties to the hidden organization known as ‘Monarch’.

Clues lead them into the realm of monsters and, eventually, down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw in the 1950s and a half-century later, when Monarch is endangered by what Shaw knows.

Wyatt will play Lee in the show’s 1950s setting, while his father will play Lee half a century later.

“The dramatic saga—spanning three generations—reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives,” Apple explained.

The sci-fi drama is notable for being based on Legendary’s Monsterverse.

Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski will all appear.

“Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse is an epic entertainment universe of interconnected stories that bring together popular culture’s most titanic forces of nature,” Apple went on to say.

“Behold humanity’s greatest survival battle as we fight for our world in the face of a catastrophic new reality—the monsters of our myths and legends are real.”

“Beginning with Godzilla in 2014 and continuing with 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, the Monsterverse has accumulated close to two billion dollars globally at the box office and is ever-expanding with the highly anticipated sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”

Apple TV+ has yet to receive an official release date, but the father-son pair is something we’re all excited to witness.

Kurt became a grandfather in March 2021 with the birth of Wyatt’s son, Buddy Prine Russell.

“It’s everything you didn’t know it was going to be,” Wyatt told Entertainment Tonight. I believe that everything you wish for is a jumble in your mind before it actually happens and that once it happens, everything that occurred before is almost as if it never happened.

“Biologically, I believe it does something to your brain that erases half of your life before you lived there.”

“And now it’s all about him and your family, trying to balance everything, time, and new, amazing problems and issues to have.”
