Linda Nolan dies at the age of 65. Details revealed…

Linda Nolan, 65, died after battling breast cancer for 20 years. The music singer died in the hospital today (15 January) with her sisters by her side.

Her agent, Dermot McNamara, said in a statement: “It is with profound regret that we announce the death of Linda Nolan, the acclaimed Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record-holding West End performer, Sunday Times bestselling novelist, and Daily Mirror columnist.

“As a member of The Nolans, one of the most successful girl groups of all time, Linda achieved global success, becoming the first Irish act to sell over a million records worldwide, touring the world, and selling over 30 million records, with hits such as ‘Gotta Pull Myself Together,’ ‘Attention to Me,’ and the iconic disco classic ‘I’m In The Mood for Dancing.'”

“Her unique voice and compelling stage presence delighted audiences all around the world, cementing her status as an icon of British and Irish entertainment.

“Beyond her great profession, Linda dedicated her life to helping others, raising over £20 million for a variety of organizations, including Breast Cancer Now, the Irish Cancer Society, and Samaritans, among many others.

“Her selflessness and unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of others will long be a part of her legacy.

Over the weekend, an ambulance brought Linda to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where she received a diagnosis of double pneumonia. Early Tuesday morning, her loving family surrounded her as she fell into a coma and entered end-of-life care.

“At around 10:20 am on Wednesday, January 15, she passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments, aged 65.”

Before receiving the all-clear in 2011, Nolan received a breast cancer diagnosis. In 2017, Nolan received a diagnosis of secondary breast cancer, which spread in 2020 and eventually reached her brain by 2023.

The statement, posted this afternoon, went on to say, “Linda’s legacy goes beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment.” She was a shining example of hope and perseverance, sharing her story to raise awareness and inspire others.

“Her family respectfully requests privacy during this difficult time, as they and Linda’s friends mourn the loss of an extraordinary woman.” We will release details about a celebration of Linda’s extraordinary life in due time.
