David Banda, 18, lives in New York with his girlfriend, Maria Atuesta, but appears to be struggling financially, despite Madonna’s $850 million net worth.
Despite admitting he didn’t have enough cash for meals, David doesn’t appear to mind and claims he’s ‘enjoying it’.
When asked how he feels about living on his own, he told The Sun, “I love it.” I’m not on my own; I have a girlfriend. But I adore it.
“It’s pleasant to experience the feeling of hunger at nine o’clock at night, and to realize that I don’t have enough money to purchase food and scavenge.” It’s enjoyable to be young.”

David was born in Malawi in 2005 and adopted by Madonna and Guy Ritchie in 2006 while they were touring the nation.
An organization named Home of Hope adopted David when he was just one year old.
The couple had some legal complications due to Malawi’s requirement that adoptive parents dwell in the country for 18 months, but the adoption was authorized in 2008.
Madonna has often discussed her strong relationship with David. In 2019, she told British Vogue that “he’s the one I have the most in common with.” I feel like he understands me; he has more DNA than any of my children to date.”
Madonna is also a mother to Lourdes, 27, Rocco, 23, Mercy, 18, and twins Estere and Stella, all 11.

Madonna recently thanked all of her children for their support throughout her recent illness, which included a life-threatening bacterial infection.
“On the day before our 80th show of the Celebration Tour, I need to acknowledge my incredibly talented children who carried me through this journey, each of them bringing their own unique talent to the stage,” she wrote at the time.
“Rehearsals began over a year ago, with a nearly two-month pause to allow me to heal from a near-death experience. They never stopped training, shouting, and supporting me.

“Their excitement kept me going!
“They were also going to school and rehearsing every night. I’m really proud of them all.
“I think what my children learned the most this year of rehearsing and performing is that if you want to follow your dreams, you have to work hard for them.”
