We’ve all been in that situation, rolling our suitcases through the airport, hoping to slip into the cabin unnoticed, knowing there’s a chance our bag won’t fit. It’s even worse when a strict flight attendant catches us and insists on checking the size.
Daniel experienced this when trying to board a Ryanair flight from Palma Airport to Costa del Sol, Spain. He was told his hand luggage didn’t meet the airline’s requirements and he’d have to pay an extra fee to bring it onboard.

According to Ryanair’s Bag Policy, passengers are allowed a small personal bag and a larger cabin bag, both with specific size dimensions. Daniel was asked to pay a hefty fee of $75.85 to bring his bag onboard.
Refusing to pay such a high fee for a few extra items, Daniel took matters into his own hands, quite literally. He decided to force his suitcase to fit the airline’s measurements by snapping off its wheels.

In a video, Daniel is seen altering his suitcase while joking about the outcome. When he successfully fits the bag into the measurement slot, there’s applause from onlookers.
Daniel remarked that it would have cost him more to check the bag than what he paid for the flight. It’s a small victory for him and a relatable experience for budget airline travelers everywhere.
