Mariah Carey’s children open up about how they feel when they listen to ‘All I Want for Christmas’ and it will shock you

“All I want for Christmaaaasss, iiiiiissss…. youuuuuu….”

That familiar tune is probably playing in your head right now, isn’t it? It’s hard to escape Mariah Carey’s iconic holiday song, especially when it seems to play at least four times a day during the festive season.

While ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ remains a perennial favorite, there’s no denying that the song can start to feel a bit overplayed after a while. Even Carey’s own children seem to agree.

The singer took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to share a holiday video featuring her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who appeared less than thrilled as they stood beside their festive mom.

Dressed in her trademark Santa-esque red jumpsuit with a white fur trim, Carey sat on the floor in front of a twinkling Christmas tree. Her children, clad in less festive black clothing, pleaded, “Mom, please, we don’t want to do this every time!”

“It’s just being festive!” Carey responded, adding, “It’s not every-”

Before she could finish, Carey broke into the well-known tune, singing: “I don’t want a lot for Christmas.” However, the kids had had enough and promptly left the camera frame, clearly uninterested in hearing another note of their mom’s famous song.

Carey clarified that the whole scene was a skit as she posted the video online, writing: “Had to do it. Merry Christmas Eve!!”

This post follows a similar video Carey shared with her kids a couple of years ago, where she walked into the room in front of the Christmas tree and began singing. As she reached the ‘is you’ part, Monroe and Moroccan joined in with slightly less perfect vocals, causing their dogs to start barking excitedly.

Fans expressed their love for Carey’s Christmas tradition, with one joking, “I wanna be Mariah Carey’s kids.” Another commented, “Favorite video I have seen ALL holidays. You and this song only get better with age, honey.”

Carey later thanked fans on Instagram for making her Christmas song Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Global 200 charts, expressing gratitude for the celebratory season and promising to share more festive moments in the coming days. With a few more days left in the festive season, there’s still time to hit that play button and enjoy Carey’s holiday magic – unless, of course, you’re tired of hearing her by now.
