The actor can be heard thanking his mother, Kay McConaughey, in a video uploaded on his wife Camila Alves McConaughey’s Instagram on Friday, March 28, for being chosen to appear on the cover of Austin Lifestyle.
“When’s the last time you were on the cover of a magazine?” You can hear Matthew singing to his mother, whom he and his wife, Camila, affectionately refer to as MaMac.
Matthew requested that his mother reveal the cover, as she was overjoyed to see herself on it.
Camila’s comment for the video stated that Jennifer Birn, Austin Lifestyle’s editor, contacted her and her mother-in-law at a recent Women of Today event.
“Before she could even finish, MaMac said her favorite word, YES’!” Camila revealed Kay’s response to being on the cover.
“Thank you for celebrating such a powerhouse as she is, and you all must view her Pilates photos inside!” I can’t even finish half of it!” Camila added.
In a recent edition, Kay revealed that maintaining her health at the age of 93 is simple.
“The biggest thing for me is that I don’t stress,” Kay told the magazine. For example, if we were close friends and you were discussing a situation, I would listen to you, and offer advice, and if you didn’t accept it, I wouldn’t worry about it.
The mother of three emphasized the significance of acknowledging that she is not obligated to “fix everything.”
“That is very positive for me,” she remarked. “Women believe that they must constantly repair things, but I disagree. I’ll help you, but I’m not going to obsess over repairing everything.”
McConaughey, a proud son, recently expressed that his mother was his most cherished instructor.
In a poignant video, he declares, “My mother has been my favorite teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.” This statement is part of a new campaign, “My Favorite Teacher,” which was created by Nicholas Ferroni, PEOPLE’s 2014 Sexiest Teacher Alive.
“I cherished the fact that my mother’s teaching always began with a book,” McConaughey stated of his mother, who served as his kindergarten teacher and substitute in high school. “You always began with the history and mathematics of the subject you were studying. The book had to be opened, the technique had to be mastered, and the history of the subject matter had to be researched.
