Maury Povich and Connie Chung are enjoying a rare date night out

Maury Povich and Connie Chung are enjoying a rare night out together! The couple attended the 50th Daytime Emmy Awards, where Povich was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Chung presented the award at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. Povich, 84, looked dapper in a traditional black tuxedo, while Chung, 77, chose a hot pink blazer and black pants, completing the look with dangly earrings and a white clutch.

Before receiving his Lifetime Achievement award, Povich, whose daytime talk show Maury concluded in September 2022, took the stage to honor the evening’s Gold and Silver Circle Inductees. These inductees have performed distinguished service within the television industry for 50 or 25 years. They include Vernee Watson, Al Schwartz, Christina Knack, Tanya Hart, and Patrick Weiland.

Povich and Chung, married since 1984, share a son, Matthew, 28. In 2020, the couple reflected on their love story, recalling their early days and the journey that brought them together. Chung, a copygirl in 1969, interacted with Povich, a big star at the time. Despite initial gruffness, they began dating six years later and eventually tied the knot. Povich and Chung credit playful banter and open communication for the success of their marriage, navigating career changes, infertility struggles, and the adoption of their son Matthew in 1995.

The couple emphasized the importance of respecting each other’s careers, space, and values. They shared their secret to marital bliss, highlighting the ability to let go of daily disagreements before bedtime. As they attended the 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, celebrating Povich’s achievements, the couple continues to embody enduring love and mutual support.
