No buddy is more loyal and devoted than a dog.
Byron, a 25-year-old from Gloucestershire, England, credits his life to his dog, Geo. Following a terrible separation, Byron experienced significant sadness and resorted to drinking. One day, overcome with sadness, he fashioned a noose and penned a farewell letter to his family, intending to terminate his life.
However, Geo, his six-year-old Welsh bullmastiff, knew something was up. While Byron went downstairs, Geo seized the rope and refused to let go, even snarling to keep him from collecting it. When Geo eventually let go of the rope, it was in shreds.
Byron credits Geo with saving his life, citing the dog’s amazing ability to predict his intentions. This intervention motivated Byron to seek therapy and improve his mental health.
Years later, doctors diagnosed Geo with an aggressive malignancy and gave him only a few days to live. Byron did everything he could to make Geo’s last days memorable. Even though Geo has passed away, Byron will always be thankful for the gift of life that his devoted buddy offered him.
