Meghan Markle’s ideal morning routine includes preparing breakfast for Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The topic happened while the Duchess of Sussex baked French toast with Queer Eye star Tan France for the current season of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, which launched on Tuesday, August 26.
“Most mornings, I cook a hot breakfast for my children and hubby. However, it is not as complex as many believe. “This is so simple to make,” Meghan, 44, explained. “It feels like a big undertaking, but you’re just slicing bread and dunking it in eggs and calling it a day.”
“You are at the griddle.” They’re not just eating cereal,” France explained.

“Yes, fried eggs and pancakes,” Meghan added, mentioning some of the specific features her children, Archie, 6, and Lili, 4, look forward to. “But I like to make surprise pancakes for the kids, so I always include some crushed flax seeds and chia seeds. And Lili will ask me, “Can I have chia seeds?” “I want it to have freckles.”
She noted that their daily schedule helps them to be purposeful about their time together.
“The ritual of breakfast is a special time for our family. You set the speed. You can discuss what makes them eager for the day. So, just take a minute to relax before the day begins, wherever it may lead you,” the Duchess of Sussex remarked.
Nonetheless, the designer, as always, enjoys adding her own unique touch.
“One thing I do with my children—and I will admit that it takes a little more time—I enjoy the presentation for them. Meghan claimed Archie would reply, ‘Oh, Mother, it looks lovely.’
In March, she used Instagram Stories to show off a unique green waffle creation for the kids’ breakfast in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, and for Valentine’s Day, she was equally on trend with strawberries and red swirled bagels topped with pink spread.

“I’m up before my kids are, so I’m normally up at 6:30, and then I get them up and dressed for the day, and we go downstairs,” she told PEOPLE earlier this year. “I love making breakfast for my family.”
However, her daily meals do not necessarily have to match the highlights she posts on social media on special occasions.
“My husband and Archie both love fried eggs,” she tells me. “There’s plenty of bacon around here. And sometimes you don’t have time for all of that, so you just pop a frozen waffle into the toaster and call it a day. There’s no shame in it either.
