Meghan Markle’s TV husband, Patrick J. Adams, reveals she texted him about the Suits podcast, despite being ‘Not Really in Touch’

Patrick J. Adams does not communicate with Meghan Markle daily, but the Duchess of Sussex just called her former co-star, and the actor is feeling the love.

The 43-year-old Suits star responded to fans’ comments and concerns on a Reddit thread on Sunday, Oct. 6, including a critical query about how his relationship with Meghan, 43, has evolved after she left the show in 2018 and married Prince Harry.

Are you still in touch? Are you still in touch?” In response to a fan’s inquiry, Adams revealed that he and the Duchess of Sussex “are not really in touch” and emphasized that she “leads a very different life now for obvious and important reasons.”

“Upon hearing about the podcast, I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way,” Adams explained.

It was, he commented, “so lovely to still have that kind of support and friendship after so many years apart.”

Meghan and Adams’ characters, Rachel Zane and Mike Ross, were love partners on the show and married on-screen. In the second episode of his and Rafferty’s Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast, Adams talked about working with the Duchess before the Suits pilot.

He said that they had “done a pilot before,” but it was not picked up, so they “never saw each other again” until they were called in for a suit chemistry read.

“I believe that simply getting to know each other, calming down, and overcoming the initial nervousness of getting to know each other significantly contributed to our chemistry,” Adams informed me. “We had an easygoing vibe when we entered that room.”

He also recalls Megahn being a lock for the position from the start. “And it was quite obvious that she’d get the part from the moment we performed the chemistry read. It was significantly easier than working with anyone else—she excelled and continues to do so on stage.
