Michael Madsen, a legendary actor, has died at the age of 67

Actor Michael Madsen died at the age of 67, according to his spokeswoman, Liz Rodriguez.

Madsen suffered a heart attack and was found lifeless in his Malibu home on Thursday, according to Rodriguez.

Madsen’s managers, Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, as well as Rodriguez, said in a joint statement, “In the last two years, Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film, including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life.”

“Michael was also working on a new book titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems, which is now being edited.

“Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, who will be missed by many.”

The iconic actor was most known for his long-running collaboration with Quentin Tarantino on films such as Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

While Reservoir Dogs drew mixed reactions from reviewers upon its premiere, Madsen’s performance in the film stood out.

“One of the discoveries in the movie is Madsen, who has done a lot of acting over the years … but here emerges with the kind of really menacing screen presence only a few actors achieve; he can hold his own with the fearsome Tierney and reminds me a little of a very mean Robert De Niro,” the film’s critic Roger Ebert commented.

Madsen has also appeared in films such as Thelma & Louise, Free Willy, and Sin City.

In addition to his television performances, Madsen contributed to the video game business by voicing characters in the Grand Theft Auto and Dishonored series.

Tributes to Madsen have poured in, including from some of Hollywood’s biggest personalities.

Captain America co-director Joe Russo tweeted, “Michael Madsen ALWAYS had bite. RIP.”

Sgt. Jauregui, a watch commander for the LASD Lost Hills Station, verified to CNN that first responders arrived at Madsen’s residence early today and discovered him dead.

Jauregui told CNN that deputies arrived at his residence this morning and discovered him unconscious.

“When LA County Fire arrived, they declared him dead at 8:25 a.m. local time. There was no foul play, and the reasons looked to be natural.
