Breastfeeding is a natural and commonplace activity for new mothers, often requiring them to nurse their infants in public settings unexpectedly.
One young mother found herself unwittingly at the center of a controversy when she discovered a secretly recorded video of herself while scrolling through social media.
Izabele Lomax, a resident of Maryland, came across the video and immediately stopped to investigate further. To her surprise, it was footage of herself.
The video, reportedly taken without her knowledge, captured Lomax breastfeeding in public, prompting criticism from viewers who felt she should have covered up her body.
The screenshot of the video was shared in a breastfeeding support group, where Lomax found it attached to a disparaging comment. In response, she expressed her disbelief and disappointment that another woman would violate her privacy and share such footage online.

Lomax was taken aback by the discovery, as she had been unaware of being filmed while nursing her child. She remarked, “I was like, ‘That’s me!'”
The individual who originally posted the video claimed they had no intention of shaming breastfeeding mothers but asserted their belief that nursing mothers should cover themselves in public.
Lomax was filmed breastfeeding on a beach blanket, unaware of being recorded by someone nearby. Feeling violated by the invasion of her privacy, she decided to address the situation publicly.
In response to the video, Lomax recorded her own video, expressing her frustration with the lack of communication from the person who filmed her. She emphasized that they had ample opportunities to approach her directly if they had any concerns.
The incident occurred while Lomax was enjoying a day at the beach with her fiancé, baby, and parents, turning what should have been a pleasant outing into a contentious situation due to someone’s disapproval of her breastfeeding choices.
