Olivia Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, has spoken out about her mother for the first time since her death in August of last year, sharing the final words the late actress told her before passing away.

The 73-year-old actress, best known for her role as Sandy in the 1978 movie Grease, died of breast cancer.

Chloe, Olivia’s daughter from her previous marriage to Matt Lattanzi, recently spoke about losing her mother in an emotional interview.

Olivia’s widower, John Easterling, joined her, and the two spoke freely about life after Olivia’s death and how the family dealt with their loss.

Six months after Olivia died, John, 70, who married her in 2008, admitted that he still speaks to her “out loud.”

Chloe, 37, described her mother’s dying moments to Today, saying, “The last thing she could call me was ‘My sunshine.'” She was also making jokes right before she lost her ability to speak.

“She’s my mother.” Although she doesn’t resemble Olivia Newton-John, I’m glad she did for so many others.”

She went on to say that the love and support from her mother’s followers felt like a “big hug from the universe,” and that she was grateful to everyone who “reached out and extended their heart” during the tough time.

John reported that “late at night, early in the morning,” he felt the presence of his departed wife.

He elaborated: “I’d talk to her aloud when I stroll around the house or throw the dogs a ball.”

I miss Olivia every day. Nonetheless, I’m glad I had 15 wonderful years with this extraordinary guy.”

He also remarked how, despite “her most trying of times,” Olivia radiated love and light.

The actress bravely battled illness for decades before succumbing to it in August 2022.

She died peacefully at home in Southern California, in the company of her loved ones. On her Facebook page, John shared the news of her death.

Olivia, according to the author, has been a symbol of success and optimism for more than 30 years since she revealed her breast cancer battle.
