The 2000s marked the era of reality TV shows, with popular programs like I’m a Celeb, X Factor, and The Biggest Loser dominating the scene. One notably memorable series from this time revolved around rock star and Black Sabbath lead singer Ozzy Osbourne and his chaotic family, aptly titled The Osbournes.
Premiering in 2002 and running for four seasons until 2005, the reality show showcased Ozzy, wife Sharon, daughter Kelly, and son Jack, offering a glimpse into the eccentric family’s antics. Airing on MTV, The Osbournes catapulted the family to fame, thanks to their candid and chaotic home life captured in their Los Angeles mansion.

Despite the success, there was a missing Osbourne sibling—Aimee Osbourne, the eldest child of Ozzy and Sharon, chose not to be part of the series. Aimee moved out before filming began at the age of 16, and her absence was often noticeable in blurred-out photos.
In a 2020 interview with the Independent, Aimee explained her decision: “Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life. So why on earth would I want that portrayed on television? I wanted to protect myself, my parents, my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable.”

Sharon Osbourne expressed her regret over Aimee’s decision to leave, sharing on an episode of The Talk in 2018: “She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea — it was appalling to her. And so she left at 16, and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.”
Since then, Aimee has pursued a career in music as the lead singer of the band ARO and has ventured into acting. In a 2021 interview with Cleveland, she discussed her foray into songwriting, recalling her teenage years: “I started writing, secretly, as a teenager. I also would write a lot of poetry — I was always creative in that way, less academically inclined. My parents overheard me kind of singing in my room.”
