Pamela Anderson recounts the ‘horrified’ reaction people had around her when she decided not to wear makeup anymore

After creating a name for herself as an actor and model, Pamela Anderson resolved to alter her life and stop using cosmetics.

The move elicited varied reactions, with many of her fans appreciating the decision, while others were taken aback by her decision to avoid cosmetics even when attending star-studded events, but the Baywatch star has remained solid in her decision.

Anderson, who is now 58 years old, has publicly discussed ditching makeup and embracing her natural beauty as she ages, telling The New York Times last year, “The things that are occurring to my face—a little elasticity is departing—I’m finding humor in that. I feel sexier now that I know certain secrets and mysteries.”

While Anderson is pleased with her decision, she stated on the How To Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast that she had to deal with individuals who were ‘horrified.’

The actor labeled her new attitude to appearance as a ‘rebel move,’ asking, “What is beauty? Beauty is subjective, and we don’t have to appear like the magazine covers.”

Anderson is entirely correct in her opinion, but it did not prevent a nasty reaction from others who disagreed.

She talked about how “we don’t have to do the industry standard, which everybody was so horrified by when I decided I didn’t need a glam team for certain events.”

Despite the response, Anderson dismissed the critics and stated that she would rather spend her time engaging in more cultural activities, such as admiring architecture when in Paris.

“I wondered, who was gazing at me? […] This incident began during Paris Fashion Week, causing everyone around me to rush and think, ‘No, this is not what people do,’ to which I replied, ‘That gives me more incentive to do it,'” Anderson said.

The star made it clear that she is not against cosmetics in general, stating that she ‘loves being dressed up and glammed up.’ Still, she felt she had ‘nothing to lose’ and wanted to utilize her famous status to ‘open up talks’ about true beauty, as opposed to the sort seen on social media.

“I really want to know who I am, and I’m just discovering that now,” she told me. “I’m not letting myself go […] I’m simply peeling it back to reveal who I am. “It is a starting point.”
