The Fast & Furious star would have been 50 the following week (12 September).
Walker died in a vehicle accident in November 2013 while driving beside Roger Rodas in his red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.
They were going between 80 and 93 mph when they collided with a concrete lamp post and two trees, and the Porsche caught fire.
Now, over a decade later, his younger brother Cody, 35, spoke to MailOnline ahead of this weekend’s co-hosting of FuelFest in New Jersey.
Cody was 25 years old when his older brother died, and he says it’s ‘impossible to believe’ it’s been nearly ten years since the terrible collision.

Cody explained that the family photographs the sunset and sunrise on Walker’s birthday every year.
“His 50th birthday is on Tuesday. Every day, I think about him. It’s difficult to believe. It’s been ten years. “Wow,” he said.
Tyrese Gibson, Walker’s buddy and co-star, consoled him after he became upset while talking about his late brother.
“He has played such an important role in my life,” Cody continued. He is 15 years my senior. My parents divorced while I was in middle school, so it had a significant impact on my life.
“You know, I used to travel a lot with him, and he’d whisk me away.”
“When my mother would say, ‘He’s got to come back for school,’ he’d just say, ‘Oh, he’s learning everything he needs to learn with me.'”
“He meant a lot of different things to different people, and we miss him terribly.”

Cody remembered the last phone call the duo exchanged—only seconds before the deadly collision—in the 2018 documentary I Am Paul Walker, which explored the actor’s legacy.
“He actually called me while on his way to that toy drive,” Cody explained.
“I was working that day, and I’m so glad I wasn’t on a call and was able to answer the phone.”
“It’s just so stupid; I’ve been on that same exact loop; it’s an industrial park; there’s nothing there on the weekend; no cars; there’s just nothing there,” the younger brother said of their choice to go take the Porsche for a spin.
Cody also discussed his connection with Walker’s daughter, Meadow, in this recent interview, following claims that she had become alienated from the family.
“She’s doing her own thing,” he explained. She is pursuing that profession. She is achieving success. Right now, I’m quite proud of her.”
